An Rather Disgruntled Open Letter to Arsenal Football Club
Dear Arsenal:

I believe I may have some news for you. Something all major English mob- I mean media outlets have been trying to get across to you over the last couple years. You and our cherished club are rapidly becoming the most successful least successful club. Now I know, this may come as a shock to you, but as you begin to break down in tears and wallow in the “how did I not see this coming” of it all, and I’ll give you a minute to dry your eyes and collect yourself…… good now that you are done, I can begin to illustrate the various ways that our club (and by that I mean you) are no longer functioning as it should.

For starters- you could stop selling your best players to Barcelona and other European powerhouses. Aliaksander Hleb, Thierry Henry, Kolo Toure, Flamini, Cesc Fabregas (not gone, but albeit with one foot out the door), have all departed. Now I recognize that Mr. Wenger has been able to find decent replacements and has succeeded in raising quite a bit of money for you, but experience and winning players are awfully hard to come by, when the average age of the squad is hovering between 22 and 24. Adding experience and proven talent does not demean this young and talented squad, but allows this squad to hear voices of leadership and winning credentials to the locker room.

When relationship issues come to the forefront, many people say “its not you- its me”, but in this case and in the case of you losing big games, it really is you and not me. In the past two seasons you have wrapped up a whopping 7 points through 8 matches against Big Four opponents, and 0 points through ALL matches against Manchester United and Chelsea in the last two years. Not only have we lost, but we have been outclassed by the Blues, the Red Devils, and Barca in the Champions league. What makes this exceedingly frustrating is that not only do you fail beat big opponents, yet we also stumble against the EPL minnows constantly, which brings me to my last point.

CHANGE YOUR TACTICS. Yes, your version of Tika-Taka is rather beautiful, but please remember this- YOU ARE NOT BARCELONA. We will constantly be put to the sword by the Birminghams, the West Broms, and the Burnleys of the EPL if you can not offer anything different. The inability to change the emphasis and offer some semblance of defensive tactics has led to being completely and consistently demolished by Chelsea, Manchester United, and other Champions League titans.
